World Music Shanghai 2012

28th April to 5th May 2012: China’s largest world music festival, World Music Shanghai 2012, will be held across four main locations in Shanghai: Red Town, Xintiandi, Life Hub @Jinqiao and Life Hub @Anting. Growing in scale every year, 2012 marks the 5th anniversary for World Music Shanghai. With this year’s theme, ‘Irreplaceable Beauty of Live Music’, the festival will bring to Shanghai a total of nine top groups from around the world to perform live on four outdoor stages. Gotan Project brushed past the 2011 World Music Shanghai

As the French band Gotan Project has some equipment performance problems with the customs, they will not be able to participate in Shanghai 2011 World Music Week performance in the May 21, 2011 at Zhongshan Park. The band Gotan Project is having their worldwide show Plan currently. It will give a performance on May the 17th in Milan, Italy. Now we get the final confirmation of the band from their agent, the band’s performance equipment will be stranded at Milan airport without a clear exit date, this will affect the domestic customs clearance speed.

As the nation of Uzbekistan Ministry of Culture Changed their plans with the China’s international arts and cultural visits program, Uzbekistan National Song and Dance Troupe will miss the show of Shanghai 2011 World Music Week performance in May 21th, 2011 at Zhongshan Park. We feel a lot of pity that the two bands will not be able to participate 2011 Shanghai World Music Week by force majeure, but the remaining 12 artists will bring music lovers fantastic visual feast of world music. 2011 World Music Shanghai to Kick Off

SHANGHAI: 11 international groups together with contemporary musician Gong Linna and other artists from China will perform during live concerts and gigs across Shanghai as part of The 2011 World Music Shanghai festival, which runs May 21 to 25, 2011.
